Gainer Camp

Why call it a camp?

I think it's a fun concept. Maybe it's just me, but the idea of a summer camp is appealing to me. And maybe I'm trying to make it clear that I'm not a hotel. I don't have private bedrooms to offer. I have a large space that was a studio apartment in which I'll put 3 or 4 beds. So it will be "cozy." It will be more like a barracks than like a hotel. There won't be a lot of privacy.

What do I expect from the participants?

I don't want this to become a case of me offering a Seattle vacation to some guys. I want it to be about gaining. I'm happy to mix in elements of a vacation because you can't focus on gaining 24 hours a day for two weeks in a row. At least, I don't think you can.

I am still very much trying to figure this out. The initial participants would have to be people that I trust. I'm opening up my home to them, so I'm taking a big chance. I guess I hope that the first group would talk to me a lot about this and help me to figure out whether this crazy idea can work and if so, how I should structure it in the future. This is not a sex camp. It is a gaining camp. Other things can happen, but that's not the intended focus. I am not expecting any kind of sexual favors in return for the camp.

I really hope that we can produce some documentation about what happened at the camp. I don't know if that is pictures or videos or diary entries or what. But I have a website. It would be nice to have some content there. I don't care if you want to use a fake name or if you want to avoid having your face in any of the pictures or if you'd rather not have your belly in a photograph. We can work around any of those kind of preferences people have. But I'm hoping this is a fun and rewarding experience for the campers and I want to record that somehow. That's one of the goals of the camp. I'd like people to talk about it in a positive way and say, "Maybe I can go to next year's camp." Maybe we'll have daily weigh-ins and progress charts. I'm hoping the campers will give me some ideas to figure this out.

What about the weather?

Seattle gets a lot of rain, but not in the summer. We are likely to have sunny days. The bigger problem is that Seattle sometimes gets hot weather for a few days. Like most Seattle residents, I don't have air conditioning. So I sometimes suffer a bit for a few days a year. Let's hope we don't get a heat wave in the middle of the camp. If we do, the campers would have to wander around the apartment with almost no clothes on while I run the fans. Wait...maybe that wouldn't be such a bad outcome after all.

When would it be?

Anytime after June 9th and before September 20th. I will probably be traveling from July 9th to July 11th, so it would be best to avoid those dates if possible. It might be nice to have it earlier rather than later in case I want to try to organize a second camp for the late summer.

What about hitting the gym?

There is a fantastic gym run by a lesbian couple right across the street from my building and I'm a member. I'm happy to pay for a 2-week membership for anyone who wants to use the gym.
