We have many great things going on in the gaining community. I think grommr has taken us to a new level for social media. I think the grommoffs are a fantastic new phenomenon that is changing the community. I think Expansion is a great event. But I feel like there is room for something more.
I guess you could describe my idea as a "gaining retreat." If you google "writing retreat," you'll see that several organizations offer writers a chance to stay for free at their facility. There are no expectations other than that you'll focus on your writing for a period of time. My niece has done several of these. I'd like to offer something similar to gainers to spend time focusing on gaining.
I plan to pay for all of the camp expenses. I'll pay for your airfare to and from the camp. I'll pay for all of the food while you're here. I'll pay for local transportation (I'll probably rent a van for the two weeks). I'll pay the bill when we go out to eat or order pizza or other food for delivery. I'll even pay for some sightseeing expenses when we're doing something as a group. But if you want souvenirs or other stuff, then you have to buy that yourself.
Really I'd like to give gainers something like 3 to 6 months to be able to do this, but that's not practical (at least not yet). So I'm thinking that a 2-week camp would be a good compromise for now. Think of it as the "no excuses" camp. Travel is free. Food is free. You are in the company of supportive gainers. You have nothing else to do but gain for two weeks.
